No matter what the species, all nesting birds in the UK are protected by law, under the Habitats Regulations 2010. This means that it is an offence to intentionally damage, destroy, or obstruct breeding activity. A vantage point survey on-site and a report should be carried out as close to vegetation removal works as possible.
